EVAANNA creates objects shaped by touch.

It begins with a simple question: what if the most ordinary objects could make us feel something?

We tend to assign emotion to decoration, to objects we look at. The most ordinary elements remain unnoticed, even though they define our closest interaction with space. Hardware – the objects we touch every day – is a powerful medium for connection. We touch them, and they touch us.

EVAANNA reconsiders these essential elements as carriers of both function and feeling. Each object is designed to be held, used, and lived with. Soft, sculptural forms settle naturally into the hand, while solid brass and bronze give them weight, permanence, and the potential to endure across generations.

Beyond utility, these details quietly influence our experience of space. Often overlooked yet constantly present, they introduce depth and tactility, transforming the everyday into something felt.

About the maker

I’m Eva Anna Gulacsi, an architect and metalsmith based in Budapest.

I chose metalwork because it allows me to work with a hard, resistant material, and the act of shaping and controlling it feels almost magical. In my practice, I move intentionally away from anything that feels machine-made. My pieces are shaped entirely by hand, with asymmetrical, organic forms and rich, textural surfaces.

At a time when the line between the real and the artificial grows thinner each day, I believe deeply in honest materials and true craftsmanship.

Materials

All objects are made from solid brass or bronze, two materials that are strong, honest, and long-lasting.

I choose these materials for their durability, but also for how they age. Instead of applying finishes or coatings (which would wear off eventually), I leave the metal untreated. Over time, it develops a natural patina, becoming darker and richer with use.

This evolving surface allows the objects to integrate more deeply into their surroundings. To me, this is part of the beauty. The objects carry traces of the people and spaces they belong to.

Sustainability

Sustainability begins with longevity.

EVAANNA objects are designed to last – physically and emotionally. Solid brass and bronze are durable, corrosion-resistant and fully recyclable. Without coatings that degrade over time, each piece ages gracefully, developing a natural patina instead of wearing out.

Equally important is emotional durability. The sculptural forms, raw textures, and handmade process ensure that no two pieces are identical, encouraging a deeper, more lasting connection.

Manufacturing

All EVAANNA objects are made in Budapest. The production is intentional and small-scale. The sand casting process allows excess material to be reused, minimizing waste.

Packaging

Recycled cardboard boxes and paper-based protective materials are used throughout. No plastic.
